Canons 's Speedlite 220EX has proven to be the most sought after flash for both professional and amateur photographers. 10Bar recognizing the advantages of this Flash for underwater photo applications have produced a purpose built underwater housing. The compactness of the 220EX is what users most like, so by following the same contours have made the housing as compact as possible. As a result, the housing is like a shell to the Flash light.

The housing enables the use of the Canon proprietary E-TTL function by providing point to point connectivity using SH6 Bulkhead and Connector. This connector system is very versatile being able to use it with either the 10Bar G9 or 40D, plus other brands using similar or S6 Bulkheads.

To resolve the problem of no slave function being available for the Speedlite 220EX, 10Bar is developing a new Optical Fibre Slave Sync Cord. This new accessory will easily allow camera housings without a bulkhead connector to be used with 220EX Flash Housing.
